General Educational Development

Students upgrading to the Grade 12 level will be eligible to write the General Educational Development (GED) Tests at an Independent Learning Centre test site.

GED preparation courses are available during the day and evenings. Please contact the GED coordinator for more information.

GED Eligibility:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have not graduated from high school
  • Have been out of the school system for at least one full year
  • Be a resident of Ontario

Administration:

  • The Ministry of Education has designated the ILC as the sole provider of the GED testing services for the province of Ontario.
  • The High School Equivalency Certificate is signed by the Deputy Minister of Education.
