Placement
Programs
Diploma Programs with Canadian Career College incorporate a work
place opportunity, which ranges from 4 to 16 weeks in duration.
The placement provides students with a wonderful opportunity to
practice newly learned skills and meet potential employers. Many
students secure employment while on their placement.
Pharmacy Technician
6 weeks comprised of 3 weeks in a retail environment and 3 weeks
in a hospital setting. This placement is a mandatory component
of the program.
Personal Support Worker
10 weeks comprised of 6 weeks in an institutional environment
supervised by the program coordinator and 4 weeks of unsupervised
in a community setting. This placement is a mandatory component
of the program.
Addictions Intervention Counseling
8 weeks of unsupervised placement with an addiction rehabilitation
agency arranged in cooperation with the program coordinator. This
placement is a mandatory component of the program.
Computer Systems Engineering
Optional placement arranged by the college in cooperation with
the student within a technical area of a corporation/business.
e-Design Web Specialist
Optional placement or contract with a business requiring web development
assistance.
Police Foundations
Minimum 50 hours of volunteer community experience within the
program organized by the college which could include police ride-a-longs,
eye in the sky, and security for city and non-profit organizations'
events.
Office Administrator
Optional placement within a business environment organized by
the college in cooperation with the student.
Paralegal/ Law Clerk
Optional placement with a law firm or other legal related organization
requiring the skills of a Paralegal. Placements are coordinated
by the college in cooperation with the students.
Primary Care Paramedic
16 weeks comprise of 4 weeks in a clinical environment and 12
weeks in a field placement. This placement is a mandatory component
of the program.
Business Administration
Optional placement within a business environment organized by
the college in cooperation with the student.
Community Services Worker
Optional placement within a community agency organized
by the college in cooperation with the student.
Medical Office Administrator
Optional placement within a medical office environment organized
by the college in cooperation with the student.
All optional placements are on an availability basis only and
cannot be guaranteed by the college.
